text box character limit -255
Why is it that the text box field is limited to 255 characters?
In filemaker Pro 7 the text box limit is 2 Gigabytes! Am I missing something ? |

Open your table in design view.
Select the problem field, and change its Field Type to Memo. That should give you 64k characters. -- Allen Browne - Microsoft MVP. Perth, Western Australia. I didn't want to use Memo field because of its limitations e.g.can't search that field, can't be used with drop-down list box, etc.

I don't know what your data requirements are, but you might consider trying to redesign your data model in such a way that you avoid the need for large scale free-form data storage and, at the same time, improve the performance of your database. -- Bruce M.
