Thanks, Text, allows you to hold all the various country type zip codes, some of which contain alpha characters, as well as useful things like "Unknown" or "N/A". -- Regards, Adrian Jansen adrianjansen at internode dot on dot net Design Engineer J & K Micro Systems Microcomputer solutions for industrial control Note reply address is invalid, convert address above to machine form. |

I would use a text field:
(1) It allows the entry of leading zeroes, which some zip codes have. (2) It allows the entry of Zip+4 (55555-0001) zip codes. -- Ken Snell MS ACCESS MVP "Steve" wrote in message ... what is the best field type for a zip code? Thanks, |
