Default problem transferring contacts between old and new computer

I have outlook xp professional and I saved my contacts
list on disc. I see it was saved as an excel file. Now I
want to insert it in my new computer. The new conputer
has outlook 2003.
Old computer was Dell Dimension 2350 new is 2400.

Operating system was XP now 2003

How do I insert my contacts into the contact list on the
new computer from the disc.

Did I lose it because I saved it incorrectly.

Sincerely
Maralee from Santa Monica

Since you've already changed file formats, you'll have to use Outlook's
Import Wizard: File Import and Export...

In the future, there is never any need to change file formats when moving
from one installation of Outlook to another. Just copy and reuse your
Personal Folders (PST) file.
