Default Opening Files from Web

I recently got a new computer from my company. It's
running IE 6 and Office 2003. I use a web-based Outlook
site to check my e-mail. In the past, if I opened an
Excel attachment from an e-mail, it would lauch the
application. Now it's opening files in IE with a modified
standard toolbar instead of in Excel. Does anyone know
what I need to do to get these files to launch in Excel
automatically, besides saving files and opening them while
in Excel?

Thanks,
Jane

There's a setting in Windows that you can change.

In win98, I can do this:
Start Windows Explorer
View|Folder Options
File Types Tab
scroll down to MS Excel Worksheet
Select it
click the edit button
There's an option to "browse in same window". Uncheck it.

That's where you can toggle the "confirm open after download", too.

Documents in the Appropriate Office Program Instead of in Internet Explorer
