what do I do when the custom dictionary is full?
I am getting a message that my custom dictionary is full and I am unable to
add additional words. How does one get around this. If I add additional custom dictionaries, are all consulted or just the default? In other words, if I create a second customary dictionary and make it my default, will Word still consult the first one? |

You can have more than one custom dictionary. As long as they're all loaded
(activated, checked), they'll all be consulted, I believe. It's not clear from Help what setting one as the default does, but perhaps if there are conflicts the default one is preferred over the others. -- Suzanne S. If you use "Add" from the foreground spell checker, the word goes into the default custom dictionary. That is the only distinction that I know of. I haven't tried creating conflicting custom dictionaries; my guess would be that Word would use the first match, and that the search order might not always be predictable. Bob S |
