Change plotting order of data points
Susan -
Copy the data to another place in the worksheet, or to another worksheet, and sort it by sales. Use this data in the chart. If you need the data to be dynamic, you can use formulas to get the ranked data and corresponding labels. - Jon ------- Jon Peltier, Microsoft Excel MVP Peltier Technical Services http://PeltierTech.com/Excel/Charts/ _______ Susan Oehler wrote: I'm sure this is a very basic question, and realize the answer might be that I can't do what I'm trying to do here, but thought I'd ask. I simply want to be able to change the order that data in a single series displays on a bar chart. I have a spreadsheet in which my employees are listed alphabetically by name and I want to leave them like that, but on the chart I want to have their total sales displayed in order from greatest to least. I know that you can change the order of data series but this is just one series with multiple points. Is there a way to do this? It seems like it would be a pretty common thing to want to do. Thanks for any help! Susan Oehler |
