Power point viewer 2003
i Have downloaded Power point Viewer 2003. I have a CD with power point
slides from Chapters in books. SOme of them when try to open say the file is corrupted. Some open fine. I know it is not the file that is corrupted. I have seen where Power Point 2003 ( not Viewer) has a patch for this problem, however the patch does not work for the viewer. Does anyone know what I can do for the Viewer? Thanks! |

That is not an issue for the Viewer, so no fix is needed. How do you know that
the files are not the problem? Have you opened them in PowerPoint ? -- Sonia Coleman Microsoft PowerPoint MVP Team Autorun Software, Templates and Tutorials "ObxVaGirl" wrote in message news i Have downloaded Power point Viewer 2003. [CRITICAL UPDATE - Anyone using Office 2003 should install the Critical
Update or Service Pack 1 for Office 2003 as soon as possible. From PowerPoint, choose "Help - Check for Updates".] [TOP ISSUE - Are you having difficulty opening presentations in PowerPoint that you just created (you can save, but not open)? - http://support.microsoft.com/?id=329820] Hello, You are correct in assuming that PowerPoint Viewer 2003 has the same problem as PowerPoint 2003 (and Word and Excel) which, for the applications, was addressed by the Office 2003 Critical Update (http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=828041). However the Critical Update does not resolve the problem for PowerPoint Viewer 2003. You can fix/update PowerPoint Viewer 2003 by doing the following: FOR POWERPOINT VIEWER INCLUDED IN POWERPOINT/OFFICE 2003 BOX: * Simply install Sevice Pack 1 for Office 2003 FOR POWERPOINT VIEWER 2003 DOWNLOADED FROM WEB * Simply uninstall current PowerPoint Viewer 2003 and install the NEW version of the PowerPoint Viewer 2003 from the Office 2003 downloads site at: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...727-43AB-4F24- 90B7-A94784AF71A4&displaylang=en John Langhans Microsoft Corporation Supportability Program Manager Microsoft Office PowerPoint for Windows Microsoft Office Picture Manager for Windows For FAQ's, highlights and top issues, visit the Microsoft PowerPoint support center at: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?pr=ppt Search the Microsoft Knowledge Base at: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?pr=kbhowto This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
