Rule for multiple messages
I tend to get spam in bunches: 3 or 4 or more messages in a row from
the same source. Is there a way to configure the message rules for mail to delete multiple messages from the same sender? Would cut down on my spam a lot. Pat |

You can add the senders address to the blocked senders list or you could
just add the entire domain to the list. Example: sends you a spam you can enter to the blocked senders list to just block e-mail from that address or you can add Hotmail.com and block e-mail from anyone using a Hotmail.com address. To access the block senders list: 1. Open Outlook Expres. 2. Go to Tools - Message Rules - Blocked Senders List and add the e-mail address or domain name. I hope this information is helpful. It's helpful. Thanks. But the spam never comes from the same sender twice, and I woulnd't want to block a domain like, say, hotmail. I was wondering if there was some way to configure a rule that would delete messages on the basis of four or five having the exact same subject line. Pat |

Unfortunately no. The OE messages rules are very limited and nothing lets you look at
another message. And blocking senders is a waste of time for spam. If this is with your Yahoo account, Yahoo does a pretty good job of blocking spam. My ISP contracts with Yahoo for mail servers and their filters typically catch 95-99% of the spam I get. ISP based spam filters can do a much better job than OE since they can compare messages coming into all of their users. -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm wrote in message oups.com...
