Default Exporting Contacts - Outlook 2003

Hi!

I'm using Outlook 2003 with Windows XP Prof (SP2).

Is there anyway I can export a subset of my contacts?

I have contacts categorised in many ways, and I'd like to export the names
and addresses of my colleagues (Category - Colleagues) and not my friends
and family.
It appears to me that I can only export the whole of my contacts and then
I'd have to mess around in another piece of software (probably Excel) to
delete everyone who is not a colleague. It sounds like a lot of work

Any thoughts?

Many thanks....

Martin

Clarify to what format you need these Contacts exported.

Russ,

Eventually they need to appear in Word 2003 for producing address labels
using an Avery template, however, I think that might be asking too much, so
I'd like to get them into Excel or Access prior to getting them into Word.

Regards,

Martin

Why can't you just leave them in Outlook, especially since that is Word's
preferred data source for mail merges? Then you won't have to go through the
data loss that occurs when you export Outlook data.

Thanks Russ....

I may have to pursue this avenue.... but the person who will be creating the
labels, does not have access to my Outlook folders.

Regards,

Martin

Well if want to provide those Contacts to this person, just copy them into a
PST file and let them open that PST file in their installation of Outlook.
Note: at no point should you export and import.
