Publisher 2003 Website Trouble
My Website host does not support frontpage/microsoft extensions, I used
Publisher 2003 to make my site, when I upload it as html all the graphics I just get a big red x, and the links to the other pages don't work. The only way I have been able to get it to work correctly it to save it as a single file webpage .mhtml but then others have trouble viewing it when I do that, are there any solutions, I suspect that it is the fact my host doesn't support the extensions but is there a work around so that I can use html and have everything show up correctly. Thanks |

Publisher 2003 Website Trouble
You do not need FPSE on your host unless you are using a form on your site.
Unless you changed your default settings in Pub 2003, when you produce your web files by File Publish to the Web, Publisher produces an "index.htm" file, which is your home page, and an "index_files" folder that contains all your supporting graphics and images and the other pages in your website. You need to upload both the index.htm file AND the index_files folder to your site, and your images/graphics will then load correctly, as will the other pages. Be sure to compress your images before you upload again. Publisher 2003 and 2007 do not automatically resample and optimize the images for the web. You should use the compress pictures feature. Reference: Compress graphics file sizes to create smaller Publisher Web pages (2003): http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/pu...266301033.aspx Reference: Compress Pictures dialog box (2007): http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/he...CL100605171033 If you have more questions about Publisher webs, then post in the web group and we will try to help you the microsoft.public.publisher.webdesign Please always include the version of Publisher you are using, the URL of your site and as much detail as possible.
