Default Consolidating OE6 + PalmDestop contacts in OTLK 2000

My question: when importing contacts from OE6 and PalmDesktop software, is
there a way to avoid duplicate entries for the same contact name and is
there a way to automatically consolidate entries that have the same name?

Here's the background:

I currently have most of my email addresses stored in OE 6 and most of my
contact details (name, address, phone number, notes) in Palm Desktop 4.1

I have just bought a Treo 600 and would like to consolidate all my contact
information into a version of Outlook 2000 that I have (will be configured
in the standalone/Internet mode) and then synchronize The Treo with Outlook
2000.

So my plan is:

Export contact names and email addresses from OE6 and import into Outlook
2000
Export contact names, phone numbers, addresses, email addresses and notes
from PalmDesktop and import into Outlook 2000.

Some of my contacts exist as entries is both OE6 and the Palm Desktop e.g.
OE6: Steve Jones,
Palm:Steve Jones, 27 Main Street, New York, NY, (212) 555-1212,

My question: when importing contacts from OE6 and Palm Desktop software into
Outlook 2000, is there a way to avoid creating duplicate entries for the
same contact name and is there a way to automatically consolidate entries
that have the same name?

Many thanks.
