Distribution List Updates
I have a distribution list that is not updating. Updates were made to
distribution list members' email addresses, but they are not updating when I click on the "Update Now" button. Also, in front of the members' names, sometimes there is an icon that looks like a rolodex card and sometimes there is an icon with 2 faces. Why the difference? Does it matter? |

Distribution List Updates
The icon difference does not matter. It does indicate that many of your
members were actually created in an earlier version of Outlook which is also why the Update Now button will never work. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "cc" wrote in message ... Distribution List Updates
Russ,
Sorry about the double entry. I placed my inquiry in the General section first and, when I didn't receive a reply, I thought that the Contacts section might be better. Thank you for your explanation of my problem. Since the distribution list is not that long, I am going to recompile/recompose it. Thanks, again. Distribution List Updates
If both the member Contact Records and the DL are created in the same
Contacts Folder in the same Outlook profile, the "Update Now" button might actually work. But not for long, I'm afraid. Most of us avoid DL's whenever possible. They are one of many Outlook features that simply don't work as they should. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "cc" wrote in message ... Russ, Sorry about the double entry.
