Default Border changes on row when it's cut and pasted

In Word 2002, when I cut or copy a row in a table and
paste it into a different part of the table, the border of
the row displays wider than at it should even though it
stills says it's the same point width when I look at it
in 'Borders and Shading'. Taking the border off and
putting it back on does not correct this. Also, if I then
try to select an entire column, the selection stops at the
pasted row. How can I fix this? Thanks.
