When I click on File -- Export -- Messages, and click OK on the dialog box
that says "This will export messages from Outlook Express to Microsoft
Outlook or Microsoft Exchange", where are these exported messages being
saved? Also, what are the name(s) and extension(s) of the saved/exported
file(s)?

What is your goal? To back them up? Move them to a new identity?
