My saved table appear in My Documents with a padlock on the icon. How can I remove the padlock

That may be a Access Locking file and not Access
application file. The padlock is part of the icon
signifying it is a Lock file.

Check the file extension of the file. I think it may
be "LDB" and NOT the Access application file
extension "MDB".

To verify what Van is saying,

1) Open My Computer
2) Go to Tools|Folder Options, View tab
3) Scroll down and remove the check next to "Hide file extensions for know
file types."
4) Click Ok to close the dialog
5) Check the file again, you should now be able to see its FULL name
