Forms text field position lock
Sarah-- Have you tried placing these fields in a table?
You may have found your solution already (as it was a month ago...), but placing the field in a table and then removing the visible borders will get you the result you want. The text in each field will wrap within its own column, so you're not going to be restricted to x-number of characters on a line. -----Original Message----- I am creating a form for users to print on a preprinted form. When data is entered, the position of the other text form fields on the same line slide to the left. The length of the data in each field is unpredictable. How can I lock the postion of the 2nd, 3rd, etc, test form fields? Thanks! . |

You need either a table with fixed size cells or to use frames (more
complicated). What you are talking about is what Word calls an "online form." Check this in help. For more about online forms, follow the links at http://addbalance.com/word/wordwebresources.htm#Forms or http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customizat...nTheBlanks.htm especially Dian Chapman's series of articles.
