Default Access 97 Compact On Close

I tried to locate the "Compact on close" feature. Opened
Tools, General tab, Options but I do not have a compact on
close feature. Is this only available in a developer's
edition ? Thanks for you help.

"Compact On Close" was introduced with Access 2000 and is included with 2000, 2002, and 2003. It is
not in Access 97 at all, and that includes the Developer Edition.
