Default formatting snaking columns

Hi All

I have a document that I have sectioned to have multiple
columns in the centre with single column sections above
and below.
I would like to add a different background colour to each
section.
Changing my snaking columns to tables is not an option as
tables do not work with my other formatting.

Can this be done in Word? If not, do you know if it can
be done in Publisher?

Thanks for your help

Trish

Certainly. Add shading to your paragraphs (Format | Borders and Shading). If
you want the color to go clear across the page (though it won't print to the
edge), you'll have to use a background graphic.
