If in this screen, you enter First Name "John" and Last Name "Smith", it displays in the Full Name "Smith John". How can I get it to now display "John Smith" and have it recognize that "John" is the first name? |

Outlook 2007-Full Name is displaying backwards
OK - The preference was set to "Last First". I changed it and it worked.
I'll bet this will help others that were complaining of the same problem. THANKS!! Sherree "Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook]" wrote: Look and see. Let's hope. It doesn't always work consistently in Outlook 2007.

Any reason you can not use the path I already posted? Both options exist
there. -- Russ Valentine "Ansie" wrote in message ... Hi Russ I am experiencing the same problem, (Outlook 2003) but my preferences a Full name - first middle last Default "file-as" - first last. Outlook 2007-Full Name is displaying backwards
I do not know how to design a form and I am unable to work out where to find
the various commandbutton etc. It is only new contacts which is swopped around for some unknown reason. How do I fix that? on typing into the fullname area, the first name becomes the last name when you open up the check full name option. Typing first name (Ansie) and then Surname (Pretorius), the Save As shows: Pretorius Ansie If I type the name into the opened full name fields the full name reflects: Pretorius Ansie and the File As reflects them in the correct order i.e. Ansie Pretorius "Russ Valentine" wrote: Any reason you can not use the path I already posted? Outlook 2007-Full Name is displaying backwards
No one said anything about designing a custom form.
You'll have to be more clear about what isn't happening that you think should. The options I specified work just fine. In what view exactly are the names not appearing the way you think they should? Outlook will do exactly what you tell it to. -- Russ Valentine "Ansie" wrote in message ... Outlook contacts
Russ,
I've a similar issue. The old contacts are fine, but I can't get any configuration to work with new contacts (OL 2007). The following are all while viewing the contact entry form. default "Full Name" order is First (Middle) Last default file-as order is Last, First. If I add Bill Leonard, the file-as will be Bill, Leonard If I change the file-as to First Last it will appear as Leonard Bill None of this makes any sense to me. I've had this problem since 2007 was installed awhile back, but only started to pursue a solution now. I appreciate any help you might provide.
