Outlook Contacts
Copy your Outlook Data File (PST file) to the CD.
If you only want to save Contacts, create a separate PST file, copy your Contacts into, then save that PST file to a CD. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Buzz" wrote in message ... How do I save my contacts in Outlook to a CD? |

I looked in my Contacts and there's nothing there and I
can't open my Address book. -----Original Message----- Copy your Outlook Data File (PST file) to the CD. So now I'm supposed to be able to find your Contacts for you too?
How did you manage to lose them? You haven't provided a shred of information. We can't read minds, you know. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "buzz" wrote in message ... Try the export feature in Outlook.
1. Highlight the Contacts Folder. 2. Click on File 3. Click Import and Export 4. Highlight Export to a file and click Next 5. Select Comma Seperated Values (Windows) and click Next 6. Select the source you want to export (the Contacts folder in Your Exchange Mailbox ) and click Next 7. In the next window, you will have to tell outlook what you want to call the file and where you want it to be stored. I suggest somewhere easy to find like your desktop (Which should come up as the default location) or in the root directory (C:\) and name it something easy to identify such as Contacts.CSV. You can name it anything as long as the last 3 charectors (Those after the .) are CSV. Click Next 8. The next window will be a confirmation window. Under the phrase :"The Following Actions Will Be Performed:" should be a square with a check mark in it followed by the words "Export "Contacts" from folder: Contacts". Click Finish 9. There will be a Progress box come up telling you the progress of the action. After the process is finished, you will find a file in the location you chose with the name you chose. You can then burn the file onto a CD using whatever flavor Burning Software (Roxio or Nero) you use. To Restore the Information: 1. Establish an Outlook profile or use the previous one if you are restoring to the same computer. 2. Highlight the Contacts Folder. 3. Click on File 4. Click Import and Export 5. Highligh Import from another program or file Click Next 6. Highlight Comma Seperated Values (Windows) Click Next 7. Insert the CD into the Drive 8. Click Browse Next to the Box for File to Import and browse to the CD you just inserted and find the file you created above. CLick Next. 9. Select the Folder inside your mailbox you wish to import it to, which should be your contacts folder. Click Next 10. The next window will be a confirmation window. Under the phrase :"The Following Actions Will Be Performed:" should be a square with a check mark in it followed by the words "Import "Contacts.CSV"(Provided you named it that) Into folder: Contacts". Click Finish 11. There will be a Progress box come up telling you the progress of the action. After the process is finished you shoul dfind all your contacts in the new folder. Or you can do it the iple way like Mr. Valentine suggested and create a PST and just copy the folder into it. -- Fred Garvin San Antonio, TX "Buzz" wrote: How do I save my contacts in Outlook to a CD? |

Please be careful with advice. Exporting to a different format and
re-importing back to a PST is a good way to lose data and a poor way to transfer Contacts information. Definitely not recommended. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "FGarvin" wrote in message ...
