Default Can't change page size of existing Word document

I have a Word document initially created for 11x17 paper. I need it to be
resized to 8.5 x 11. It's all text boxes and drawn pictures. When I go into
Page Setup and choose 8.5x11, the document shows only the top left hand
portion of itself. It's not altering the content, just chopping off the
document. Thanks in advance.

You can't reduce the document that way. What you can do is use Print: Zoom:
Scale to Paper Size.
