Default Unable to dial any contacts

Outlook 2007: When I click the phone button & start call I get an error
message "An internal error occurred in the automatic phone dialer. Close the
dialog and reopen it".

Reopening has no effect.

The modem is installed OK and working in device manager and in control panel
phone & modeem options. It appears to be connected to com 15 if that is
relevant.

How can I get it working ?

Outlook is not a player in this scenario. It uses the Windows dialer. So I'd
post this as a telephony question in a Windows group.

Thanks - I solved it anyway. Turned out to be a conflict with a bluetooth
device that installed a modem I did not know about. When I removed the
bluetooth modem and rebooted everything worked again.
