excel import
Is it possible to import information from an excel document and then retrieve
information pertaining to the items in the excel document? For example: If I am given an excel document with various SSN's on it, is there a way that I could import that into a database and then pull information on those SSN's? I'm sorry if I'm not being 100% clear. I am using Access 2003 on Windows XP. -- NO STEVE, I DO NOT WANT YOU TO BUILD A DATABASE FOR ME FOR A "REASONABLE FEE". |

Yes, you can use File\Import and bring the document into Access and then
query for the ssn's. Or you can do it with code, such as with the transferspreadsheet method. Check Help for both. -- Milton Purdy ACCESS State of Arkansas "NAS" wrote: Is it possible to import information from an excel document and then retrieve information pertaining to the items in the excel document? You'd have to link to one SS and then update the link each time, either by using the linked table manager or updating the Connect property of the linked table in code. Gotta LOVE that tag line! |

Thank you both for your help. I was able to make a "rough draft" which works
fine, I just need to tweak it a little. -- NO, I DO NOT WANT YOU TO BUILD A DATABASE FOR ME FOR A "REASONABLE FEE".
