Default Any way to get IMAP to remember password?

Driving me insane. Isn't there any way to get IMAP to stop asking for the
saved password repeatedly? If this is not something I can set up inside
Outlook, then is it something I can request of Cox Communications (my ISP)?
Several times a day I am routinely bounced out of my IMAP cnonection and it
takes several attempts to get it to take the password and connect. Later on
it will do it all over again and ask for the same thing. (I am using Windows7
laptop running 32bit with Outlook 2002/2003)

Outlook 2002 or 2003?, you cannot have both.
Outlook 2002 is not compatible with Vista let alone Win 7, the formost
problem being passwords are not remembered.
