Glad to hear it's now fixed. Thanks for the added link.

By deleting and recreating the Compuserve account in Outlook Express all the problems were resolved. Not surprisingly, Compuserve offers detailed instructions with screen displays which can be found in: http://www.forumscentral.com/email/imap.htm Robin "Jim Pickering" wrote in message ... "Robin Rembish" wrote in message ... Outlook Express 6 I recently installed Earthlink on our home computer but kept Compuserve as well. After this new installation, I noticed that when connected to Compuserve I had the following problems: - When opening Outlook Express I got these error messages Your 'Inbox' folder was not polled for its unread count. Account: 'Compuserve Server', Server: 'imap.cs.com', Protocol: IMAP, Server Response: '', Port: 143, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x8004108D Your 'Sent Items' folder was not polled for its unread count. Account: 'Compuserve Server', Server: 'imap.cs.com' , Protocol: IMAP, Server Response: ", Port: 143, Secure (SSL): No, Error Number: 0x8004108D - When opening Outlook Express or clicking on the Inbox for Compuserve or clicking on a Compuserve email that had yet not been opened, I got automatically switched back to the Compuserve screen. After two weeks of Earthlink, we decided we didn't want it anyway (it allows only 10 mb of space for emails unless we want to pay more) and I uninstalled Earthlink. However, the problem with Outlook Express and Compuserve persists. I did try reinstalling Internet Explorer and Outlook Express which didn't work. Uninstalling Outlook Express did nothing more than remove it from the Control Panel. The icon remained and all folders and messages formerly in Outlook Express remained. What can I do to resolve this problem? Thanks for your help. Robin Rembish |
