adding bookmark
Word 2007, Windows XP Professional: I'm trying to add a bookmark but when I
type in the bookmark name in the bookmark name box, the Add button is greyed out. I'm not using any spaces. The place I want to bookmark is within a "table title" style but I didn't think that would matter. I even tried placing the cursor directly into the table and the "add" button is still greyed. Also, I deleted all the OLE_LINK bookmarks. The "add" button was available when they were there but when I tried to type in a new bookmark name it would turn grey. Am I missing something? -- LAC |

adding bookmark
I don't know how to respond to these and have my response show up. Sorry.
When adding a bookmark, the bookmark must begin with a letter and cannot have any spaces in the bookmark text. Hope that helps. adding bookmark
This might not be the problem here, but do you know that bookmarks have to
start with a letter? If your first character would be a number or some kind of punctuation mark the "Add" button would be disabled. Yves "LAC" wrote in message ... adding bookmark
Well I'll be darned. For as long as I've been setting bookmarks I guess I had
never tried to set one that started with a number. That's exactly what the problem was. Too bad MS Word help doesn't tell you that right from the start! Many thanks to you and Yves. -- LAC "SallyF" wrote: "LAC" wrote: Word 2007, Windows XP Professional: I'm trying to add a bookmark but when I type in the bookmark name in the bookmark name box, the Add button is greyed out. If you still want to use a number, you can start with an underline and then
the number. -- Suzanne S. Barnhill Microsoft MVP (Word) Words into Type Fairhope, Alabama USA http://word.mvps.org "LAC" wrote in message ... Well I'll be darned.
