Default "Notify me of replies"

When I ask a question, I check the box to "notify me of replies", at the
bottom of the question form, but nothing happens. Am I misunderstanding the
check box? Or do I have to do something else to be notified when someone has
answered by questions?

We have no idea. We don't know what your database looks like. I'd suggest
you ask the person who built the database what that checkbox is supposed to
do.

We can answer questions about ACCESS, but unless you share your database
structure and code withus, we can't answer questions about your specific
application.

I suspect she is referring to whatever site she is posting her newsgroups
questions through...

You will be notified via the email address you registered with. It can take
some time before someone answers your question. If your question is vague,
it's quite possible that no one will answer it.

Rick:
When I go into this MS Community section and put in a new post, I type my
question. At the bottom of the screen there is a check box "Notify me of
Replies".
I check this box, but I do not get a message. Is there something else I
have to do?

Joan:
I went back to check for answers and had 3 answers but I was never notified
by e-mail. Any suggestions?

It's probably safest just to come back to the newsgroup for your
answers. You can use the News feature of Outlook Express to connect to
msnews.microsoft.com as the news server; the Communities webpage is
NOT THE NEWSGROUP, it's only one of several tools to get to the
newsgroups - and (IMHO) not the best such tool!

Just to add to the comments already mentioned, I do not
think it is wise to set this option because I *believe* this will
require that you post an actual e-mail address to the newsgroups
which is really not a good idea. Unless of course, you enjoy
getting lots of SPAM and viruses.

No it doesn't require that. The email that you associate with passport is
the one that gets the response. That isn't the email you post with.
