Microsoft does or doesn't do something. -- JoAnn Paules MVP Microsoft [Publisher] ~~~~~ How to ask a question http://support.microsoft.com/KB/555375 "kjmej" wrote in message ... That's tantamount to saying that there's no ribbon because there's no ribbon, or just "because". We did, however, get PDF - IMO this is of more benefit to Publisher (and Office) users than having the Ribbon in Publisher would be. -- Ed Bennett - MVP Microsoft Publisher http://ed.mvps.org |

I was also said that this is because of no time for Ribbon in this Publisher
release. However, although I love Ribbon alot, I still don't think it will be a good thing for Publisher, as I've mentioned in my comment "Firstly when I saw the Publisher doesn't have Ribbon I was quite sad, but during the work I do in it almost every day I've realized that it would slow me down a lot in this application. I definitely love Ribbon and I think it absolutely rocks :] however the same way I think that tasks which are being done in Publisher much more need all icons to be prepared to use than contextual changes of the UI. Simply because there are just a lot of them which are applicable all the time, irrespective of the context." Ribbon in Publisher?
Publisher hasn't nearly the functions other Office products are saddled with. I
cannot see any benefit of having the ribbon. Most of the Publisher menus are floaters, something that is sorely missing in Word. -- Mary Sauer MSFT MVP http://office.microsoft.com/ http://msauer.mvps.org/ news://msnews.microsoft.com "Jan Kucera" wrote in message ... I just hope the UI team will share our opinion about ribbon and that it
won't prevent them to include other 2007 features, like SmartArt and so on. Jan "Mary Sauer" wrote in message ... Publisher hasn't nearly the functions other Office products are saddled with. Ribbon in Publisher?
That's true, do you think it couldn't be separated? It would be quite pretty
to have all these shadows and glows in Publisher instead of WordArt, as well as SmartArt or math/equations. I believe that live preview is not possible, though. And I would welcome the XML file format as well, which could be probably achieved without Ribbon. I think that if I should choose between these features and not having the Ribbon, I would probably choose not having the Ribbon. If they decide for it, however, nothing is lost, I would than be able to create my TaskPane with all the icons needed. :-) Jan "Ed Bennett" wrote in message ...
