When you have .5 margin all around and you also want the fold lines to be correct,
the center of the brochure columns will have to match your outside margins. If only
you want the front of the brochure to fit the panel, it will have to have .5 margin
on the left as well as the right. The margins are always determined by your printer's
limitation. Look in your documentation or open WordPad, page setup, input zero into
each margin, WordPad will default to your printer's specifications. The largest
margin will be on the bottom in portrait and on the right in landscape. I have
attached a small .gif.

I have finished trifold brochure. I have used the grids
lines for three columns. I have margins set at .5 inches.
Thus I have a .5 margin all around my page. If I reduce
the margins, I get part of a text box border not printing
at the edge of the paper. My problem is that folding the
brochure three ways does not work because I have that
margin around the edge. The folds do not fall on the
space between the columns.

What should I do? I am not going to print the brochure on
my printer but take it to Office Depot or Staples to have
it printed. If it is printed elsewhere, can the margins
be set to be closer to the edge of the paper?

Please offer any suggestions and information.

Thanks,
Susan
