Word 2000 and Word XP compatibility
I've been recently upgraded from Microsoft Office 2000 to Microsoft
Office XP. When I am trying to open my old documents created with Word 2000, the font looks smaller and when I am trying to print is like the content of the page get smaller - keeping the same amount of words like in the old document only at a smaller scale. It is anything that can be done so I will have the same format in Word XP? |

If the difference is slight, it could be that there is actually a difference
in font metrics or spacing, but if the difference is quite noticeable (that is, if the document prints in the upper left-hand corner of the page, with a wide right and bottom margin), then that's because it contains at least one tracked change or comment, and Word is allowing space for the "balloons." Either print from the Final view (rather than Final Showing Markup) or Accept All Changes and Delete All Comments. See http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/trac...ngesWorks.html -- Suzanne S. Hi,
This could be caused by your document previously being formatted for 'A4' paper (21.0.*29.70cm), but now being formatted for 'Letter' paper (21.59*27.94cm). Look under File|Page Setup|Paper size. If you've also got Word's 'Allow A4/Letter Resizing' option selected under Tools|Options|Print, the output will be scaled down (because 'Letter' paper is shorter than A4). If you uncheck that option, the scaling will stop.
