FWIW...I just did a test on my Xp machine with Office 2007. Opened a new
template on Pub 07, selected a text box, was able to paste text from your
email, and a test document from Word07 without issue.

That Publisher 2007 is unable to copy and paste from email or Word to

articles for a 16-20 page newsletter via email, and to have to go
through the manipulations outlined by Mary Sauer in another forum
message is ridiculous. Had I known this to be necessary I would not
have upgraded (supposedly) from Publisher 2000 to 2007. Publisher
2000 did this copy-paste routine with ease. 2007's needed
manipulations will add hours per month to editing my newsletter. A
fix is mandatory.

Thank you for your comment. Could this be the trouble -- I have Word 2000

My guess would be NOT since you said you could not paste from email also??
If you think W2000 is the problem, try a sample copy/paste from notepad.

I am using Word 2000. Could that be causing the problem?

MARY --I just opened a new Publisher document. One page. Copy and Paste works. So, is the size of the newsletter causing the problem! It is 16 pages, about 70,331 KB is size. (Size was never a problem with Pub 2000 -- but I'm just making a guess to try and get this problem solved. Thanks.)

UPDATE
I now have opened another newsletter, which is 74,000+KB in size, and Copy
and Paste from Word worked. So size of the file is not the problem. What on
earth could it be?

Publisher 2007:

from an HTML source (web or html email);
Copy to clipboard
Paste into Publisher - this will create it's own textbox (not paste into an
existing one)

or
Copy to clipboard
Open Notepad
Paste into Notepad
Copy from Notepad
Paste into an existing textbox in Publisher document.

Too bad we have no idea what you're talking about because you haven't
quoted
the original problem or response. Why can't you copy/paste? I copy
paste
from Word & email to Pub 2007 all the time...of course with email you
may
have to strip the html out but you'd have to do that with any.

The problem, Rob, is what I stated. You can't copy and paste into a
Publisher 2007 text box from email, or an email placed into Word.
Another poster stated he had the same problem -- you make the text box
and click on paste, and another empty text box appears. Mary Sauer gave
a reply that included Saving As to 97-2000 Word, right clicking in the
text box , and clicking on Change Text. To save space I referred
readers to that. Please tell me how you "copy and past from Word &
email all the time." I would much appreciate this information.
(Seriously.) Thank you!!!
