Default Access 2000 DB in Access 2002

I was curious about the following situation. Because
Access 2002 allows you to open and work with databases
created in Access 2000 format, my question is, if I open a
database that is in Access 2000 format with Access 2002,
can I continue to work on the database (Access 2000
format) in Access 2002 without having to convert it to
Access 2002 format? If so, will I still be able to open
the database back in Access 2000, even if I make changes
to forms/code/tables/queries, etc..., in Access 2002?

My situation is such that I have a lot of Access 2000
databases and there are times when I will have a PC that
has Access 2002 installed on it, and I don't want to
upgrade my other PC that has Office 2000 installed on it,
and I'd like to be able to make changes to the Access 2000
DB on an Office 2002 PC, while still being able to take
the changes back to my Office 2000 PC and have the
application work.

Actually, the default format for Access 2002 is Access 2000. You have to
make a change to one of the settings to make Access 2002 format the default
(and convert any already-created databases if you want them to be in Access
2002 format).

In other words, you should have no problems.

You should be OK *provided* that in your database design
changes, you don't use new features that are introduced in
A2K2. If you do, the database still works in A2K0 but the
new A2K2 features you use in the database won't work for
the A2K0 users.
