I cut/paste a phone no. from a website onto a word doc. The paste had black
highlight/shade?. I was able to somehow get rid of that yet later in the doc
it appeared again. Now when I start a new clear word doc, the first line has
that same black highlight/shade but the rest of the doc does not. If I start
typing in the middle of the doc, there is no highlight/shade. How do I stop
the shading.

Ctrl+A to select the entire document and Ctrl+Spacebar to remove direct font
formatting (including shading); for new documents, see
