Default HELLLLLLLLP!! I Need To Pull This Excel File Into Access And... - Sample.xls (0/1)

I have already pulled a list of students into Access (The sample is
only part of a list of 1362 students) I have a barcode scanner to scan
the student ID number into the computer which I have working. I want
to scan the students ID cards with a barcoded ID number and bring up
the students name, class and lunch. Can someone walk me through this
since this is the first time I am working with Access. As you can see
by the names I am working at an inner city school and I am doing this
on my own so if you are one of those people that wants to charge me
$250 to set this up I cannot afford to pay that out of my pocket. And
the school certainly won't pay for it, even when they see how how well
this will work.
I am trying to set something up to keep the kids that do not belong
in my lunch period out. My school has two semesters and the new one
starts soon. Last semester they had little stickers that they stuck on
the ID's and the people who did that did not monitor it too well and
the student just peeled the stickers off their ID and gave it to a
friend and got a new one for themself. I want to keep all the trouble
makers out of my lunch that don't belong there.

Default

1- create a query, using the students info table and selecting the
information fields you need on screen
2- create a form, to view that information needed by student id
3- program the id number field to receive the scan results and display the
student info on screen.
