Pub 2007 Serious Problem - Printing
I've used every Publisher from day one .... with 2007, the print window is
slowing me down to no end. It is stupid in that when printing a business card, you have to do a layout each time to tell it where to print the 10 cards, then when you select the quality setting on your printer, and go back, you have to do it all over again. When you want to print 10 sheets you have to select 100 when the cards are to print 10 on a page. 2003 Pub never had this extra window and could print way faster. I'm trying to print 10 pages right now and it is taking about 10 minutes just to load ... I have done the same page in 2003 without this delay. HELP |

Pub 2007 Serious Problem - Printing
Update ... installed Pub 2002 version ..... to send a 100 pages of the same
card to the printer takes under 10 seconds. OK .. so is Pub 2007 something that can be repaired with the new Print ( DELAY ) window .. or should I just get rid of it completely? Pub 2007 Serious Problem - Printing
Are you using the page setup business card? Have you tried the Avery US Letter
templates? They seem to work better, although the print setup will be the same. Have you tried the Advanced page setup? I have printed many a card from 2007 without your problems. Is your driver current? -- Mary Sauer http://msauer.mvps.org/ "Wayne" wrote in message ... Pub 2007 Serious Problem - Printing
These cards were done with the Wizard in pub 2000 or 2003 some time ago.
All drivers are current. Are you saying you don't get the 2007 print window that I get when I press file, then print. Not even sure why MS would have this extra window when all I want to do is get to the Actual Printer Driver window ( this case being a Canon inkjet ) which has all the options for printing. It's this EXTRA window MS 2007 has that is 1) not necessary 2) slowing down production to a point where I am now using Pub 2002 instead just to get my work out the door. Wayne, I am not altogether sure I know what you are experiencing. I have
business cards that were created in 2000. When I open them in 2007 the formatting is gone and has to be reset. It is only the margins. They print quickly. It's this EXTRA window MS 2007 has I've never seen any program that will take you straight to the printer driver dialog; it's always accessed via some kind of print window (most typically the standard common dialog box). The Properties button in the Print dialog and in the Print Setup dialog both take me to the printer driver, as they always have done. The only thing that sometimes slows things down is the communication Publisher 2007 does with the printer driver. That can be a little frustrating. -- Ed Bennett - MVP Microsoft Publisher http://ed.mvps.org |
