Default Save contact info to disc or other portable device

I have tried to save my contact info to a .pst file. Once it is created and I
try to copy it to a disc it tells me I can't open that file. All I want to do
is copy my contact list to put on another computer so we can travel with it.
I am very much an amateur when it comes to computer skills so try to keep the
instructions basic and as simple as possible.

Make it easy on yourself and just copy the entire .pst file.

1. Close Outlook - ensure it is completely closed using Task Manager
2. Copy the outlook.pst (locate this using Windows Search and include hidden files and folders)
3. Place the copied file on the media of your choice (USB stick are handy for this if the file is smallish)
4. Insert the media in the other computer, copy the file to My Documents (my preferred location as this tends to be included in backups)
5. Right click the copied file, select Properties and ensure that "Read Only" is unticked.
6. Open Outlook on the new machine.
7. In Outlook, use file-open-outlook data file.
8. Browse to the My Documents folder and double click on the saved .pst file. Okay out.
9. Expand the new Personal Folders tree that appears in OUtlook by clicking on the +.
10. Expand the Contacts folder.
11. Select one contact and then press Control+A to select all.
12. Right click and drag to your preferred Contacts FOLDER in the default Personal Folders tree.
13. Release the button and select Copy.
14. When done, right click on the root of the .pst file and select Close.

If you have any issues with any part of this, feel free to post back with where you are having problems.
