Default Format Database field

I have a database merge field in my document that returns
a number of fields from the database. It returns it in a
table format, how do I format the table for example: make
the heading bold, numbers align to the right, column width
a specific size ?

You have very limited control over the format of these tables. You can use
switches (see Word Help) to apply one of Word's predefined table formats.
This won't help you with the number alignment problem or column width. You
can /try/ using the \*Mergeformat switch to preserve the last set of
formatting you applied, but in my experience it does not work reliably in
recent versions of Word. The only reliable way to do this is probably to
merge to a new document, then use a VBA macro to format each table the way
you really want it.
