Default Section break odd pages with different numbering styles

I am creating a large document with different chapters. The first one has
roman numerals in the footer as page numbers. The second chapter then must
start on an odd page with standard numbering i.e. 1,2,3. But although we are
insering a section break, odd page, it is not working. I think it is to do
with switching numbering styles.

Help please.

What isn't working? If you mean that the odd section break is ignored
(acts like a new page section break), you have to enable "Different
odd and even" and/or "Mirror margins" (both options are in FilePage
Setup). Without these options set, Word looks at the page number of
the second section and decides it doesn't need to insert a filler
page (even if the first section ends on an odd page), since "1" is an
odd number.
