Default Date Range in Chart?

I have successfully built a chart AND a pivot chart that displays a date
range. HOWEVER, when I insert either of the darn things into the master
report, which is driven from a query that asks for a date range, they ONLY
SHOW THE DATA FOR THE LAST DATE IN THE DATE RANGE. Each day clearly shows in
the report (I have summary data for each date in the date footer area - no
detail shows). Why won't each date show in the chart/pivot chart???? Did I
insert them in the wrong place? I have the master field set to date from the
main report and the child set to date in the inserted chart. PLEASE HELP!
