Default POP3/SMTP & Exchange Account

I have both a POP3 and an Exchange Account set up in my Outlook 2003. The
Exchange is set as the default. When I send from the POP account, it send
"on behalf of" the Exchange account. This results in the return address
being the exchange account instead of the POP account. How do I fix this?

And does Exchange handle both accounts or is the POP3/SMTP provided by an
external entity? The reason that I ask is that there is a known issue with
messages jumping between accounts when the SMTP server throws an error back
where the message couldn't be sent. The fix here is to make sure that one
authenticates to the SMTP server to send the message.

ps - if you want more information about the messages jumping between
accounts, just search for posts by Jeff Stephenson of Microsoft surrounding
SMTP.

I actually have one Exchange, which is my work account. One POP3/SMTP that
is my personal account, and one POP3/SMTP that is my school account. They
are all seperate entities.

I tried the authenticated to send messages, but it didn't do any good for me.
Is there another suggestion or a patch available?

Here is the line that I think is giving the error.

You are not authenticating to the smtp servers for wright.edu or
schwartzhq.com. Go to the outgoing server tab of each account (its in the
more settings section) and configure the account for authentication to the
SMTP server.

Also note that the schwartzhq.com server will let you send if you pop
messages first. For the life of me I can't remember where Outlook 2003 will
let you configure a POP before SMTP. (might be on the outgoing server tab
above, I will have to look once I get myself in front of an Outlook 2003
client.)
