Default Import Outlook 2003 XP to MacOS Entourage

We have a client who wishes to have her Outlook 2003 E-mails moved over to
her Apple laptop that uses Entourage. How can we import these e-mails? We
have tried and Entourage does not recognize the Windows PST file.

By the way, it took all of five seconds with Google and the search string
"migrate outlook to entourage" to find the reference I posted. Google is
your friend.

I use Entourage 2004 primarily but a family member has Outlook 2003 so I'm
familiar with both programs. Another way to do it is just save the emails
from Outlook 2003 as .eml files, copy them to the Mac, and then just drag
those .eml files straight from Finder into the Entourage inbox. Entourage
automatically detects the date, sender, subject, etc. and files the messages
in the inbox.

Outlook doesn't save a .eml. Outlook Express does.

Oops, should have thought of that. Is there a way to copy from Outlook to
OE and then save as .eml from there? I'll try to remember to practice this
tomorrow and see if I can find an easier method. I should have access to
Outlook 2003 at some point and my computer has Entourage 2004 so it
shouldn't be too hard to figure out what works and what doesn't.

Well, you can export mail to OE using OL or import mail from OL using OE,
but I'm not sure how fine the control is. I doubt you could do single
messages, but you can certainly do the entire set of mail folders.

I forgot to do it today :-) but will try some different things Friday or
Saturday and post the results back here.

OK, here is another method that works, preserving all formatting.

IN OUTLOOK:
Select messages that you want moved to Entourage (choose 10-20 at a time).
Click FORWARD
Make sure the messages are included as attachment, not inline.
Send them to an email address you have set up in Entourage.

IN ENTOURAGE
Receive the message(s) forwarded from Outlook
Select all the attachments in the Entourage attachments pane
Simply drag the attachments right into the Entourage inbox.
Done!

Tested on Office Outlook 2003 and MS Office Entourage 2004.
