Default My Excel stop working can any one help?

All of a sudden Excell stop working now it wants me to install the instlation
CD and I have had Office 2000 so long I can't find it. Can any one help?

Are you using a registered copy of excel or is this a bootleg copy?
Did you recently add the microsoft security update?
