when double clicking on .xls files, prog. opens but not the file
when double clicking on .xls files, progam opens but not the file (2000 xl
installed) When i receive .xls attachments to e-mail and try to open, i get error message" file cannot be found in temp folder. I than save file to desktop and open by first opeing prog then open file. this is the only program that has this problem, which has occoured only recently |

Sometimes one of these works when you're having trouble with double clicking on
the file in windows explorer: Tools|Options|General|Ignore other applications (uncheck it) --- or --- Close Excel and Windows Start Button|Run excel /unregserver then Windows Start Button|Run excel /regserver The /unregserver & /regserver stuff resets the windows registry to excel's factory defaults. Maybe one of these will work for you. Problem sorted, thank you, Not sure which option did the trick as first time round the problem remained then i tried again and it worked.
