Default SMTP Authorization Setup

I have had the same email account for over 10 years and have used the various
version of Outlook with no major problems. I am currently using Outlook 2007
and in th past two months I get an error notification that my mail can not be
delivered since there are no authentication methods... I call the ISP tech
support and they have edit my email account in the more settings area
outgoing server tab. If it is set to "log in to incoming server before
sending mail" they have me change it to "log on using" and have me enter my
full email address and password. Today when I again had to call I was
informed that the problem was with Outlook and I should call Microsoft for a
solution. This is getting to be a real problem, since the number of
incedences is increasing. Any suggestions as how to fix this? I really do
not want to give up Outlook wiith the task manager and calendar integration
which I have synched with my Blackberry.

What is the exact error message in full?
I assume you are using a POP3 account?

If you have a virus scanner that integrates with Outlook, disable/uninstall
this integration of your virus scanner and try again.
