could you be more specific about what you mean?
the rows and columns in excel have headers.

Maybe...
Excel 2003 and earlier:
Tools -- Options [View] tab and then toggle "Row & column headers" checkbox?
Excel 2007
Office Button -- [Excel options] then Advanced in left pane, scroll down to
"Display options for this worksheet" and toggle "Show row and column headers"
checkbox.
