Deactivating Product Key
I have a laptop that just died after less than 3 years. It still works well
enough to get into it, but it's not reliable enough to be usable. I had put the full MS Office Small Business version on that computer and two others. Is there a way to deactivate that product key so I can use my third valid key on a new laptop? |

You have 3 licenses? Uninstall from the dying one and install on the
replacement. BHarper wrote: I have a laptop that just died after less than 3 years. It still works well enough to get into it, but it's not reliable enough to be usable. I noted Bob I's surprise at three license uses. Small Business 2003 or 2007 retail only allows one machine as a primary and a second "portable" machine for the exclusive use of the primary user of the primary machine. Now if you have a volume license that would not apply. If the license allows it, just install onto the new machine and let the old one die. There is no deactivation method available or desirable. |
