Hi,
How do I get rid if this? Sometimes it is not possible to
start Access with multiple instances of Access running in
taskmanager..

You should be able to run multiple instances of Access.
Perhaps some of the instances are vestiges from crashed sessions?

If so, check that you have the latest service pack for your version of
Access, and for JET 4. Both are available from the Downloads section at
support.microsoft.com
