Default A1:R42 display limit

I have a 19" monitor an when set to 1600x1200 pixels Excel only displays the
cell range A1:R42 within the window. This is only a portion of the available
window & it appears there is a limit within the programming code

I want to be able to fill the available screen with cells i.e. if A1:AB100
will fit then good.

I am also looking to buy a 30" monitor but there is no point if Excel will
not fill the available window space.

If you select the range you want to see, you can adjust the zoom to see it.

View|Zoom|Fit Selection

(or use the zoom dropdown icon on the standard toolbar)
