"sort and top 10" is greyed out on the pivot table tool bar.
"sort and top 10" is greyed out on the pivot table tool bar, i.e. it is not
available. This is excel 2003 on windows xp-pro with sp2. It is an HP laptop, but the same occurs on my desktop, p3 w/w2k-pro, with excel 2002. Did I not install an option? or ??? Thanks in advance. Mike Shanahan |

If the pivot table source is an OLAP cube, or multiple consolidation
ranges, the Sort and Top 10 command will be unavailable. wrote: "sort and top 10" is greyed out on the pivot table tool bar, i.e. it is not available. This is excel 2003 on windows xp-pro with sp2. Debra, thanks. I tried to check these two items but they did not apply. I
did however get it to work. Here is the fix: 1-Data is in b5..c20 2-if I sweep from b5 to c20 "sort and top 10" is available and it works. 3-if I sweep from b20 to c5 "sort and top 10" is available and it works. 4-if I sweep from c5 to b20 "sort and top 10" is greyed out and doesn't work. 5-if I sweep from c20 to b5 "sort and top 10" is greyed out and doesn't work. This is true on both excel 2002 under w2k, and excel 2003 under win-xp-pro. Thanks for your help. To test out your ideas I copied to a new spread sheet and in testing I found the solution above. Thanks again, Mike Shanahan. ======================================== "Debra Dalgleish" wrote: If the pivot table source is an OLAP cube, or multiple consolidation ranges, the Sort and Top 10 command will be unavailable. wrote: "sort and top 10" is greyed out on the pivot table tool bar, i.e. it is not available.
