Default All open excell spreadsheets close when I click on the big X in the upper right

In Excell 2003, when I have multiple documents open and I
click on the big X in the upper corner all docs close at
once.

In Word 2003 this does not happen. Is their a setting that
I can change this?

I don't think so.

(but they are different programs--that are getting closer in look and feel with
every release. Maybe a message to (with excel in the
subject) would help for some future release.)

Hi!

Instead, try clicking the little X (to close the workbook) rather than
the big X (to close Excel). Its tooltip says "Close window".

You have one instance of Excel running, with a number of workbooks
"sharing" it in separate windows.

In Word you will have one instance of Word running for each document
open.

Press Shift when clicking File, you should get Close All instead of Close
